Polycarbonate – Introduction
Polycarbonate is an amorphous, tasteless, odorless, non-toxic and transparent thermoplastic polymer. It has excellent mechanical, thermal and electrical properties, especially impact resistance, good toughness.

Polycarbonate notched impact strength of 44kj / mz, tensile strength > 60MPa.

Polycarbonate heat resistance is good, can be used for a long time at – 60 ~ 120 ℃, heat deflection temperature 130 ~ 140 ℃, glass transition temperature 145 ~ 150 ℃, no obvious melting point, in 220 ~ 230 ℃ is molten state.

Thermal decomposition temperature > 310℃. Due to the rigidity of the molecular chain, its melt viscosity is much higher than that of general-purpose thermoplastics.

Polycarbonate has excellent electrical properties, its volume resistivity and dielectric constant and polyester film, respectively, 5 × 1013 Q.m and 2.9 (106 Hz), dielectric loss angle tangent (106 Hz) < 1.O × 10 -2, second only to polyethylene and polystyrene, and almost unaffected by the temperature, in the range of 10 ~ 130 ℃ close to a constant, suitable for making at higher temperatures electronic components that work at higher temperatures.

Polycarbonate light transmission is good, light transmission rate of 85% to 90%.

In chemical resistance, dilute acids, oxidizing agents, reducing agents, salt, oil, aliphatic hydrocarbons stable, but not resistant to alkali, amines, ketones, aromatic hydrocarbons and other media, easily soluble in dichloromethane, dichloroethane and other chlorinated hydrocarbons.

In addition, polycarbonate has low water absorption rate of 0. 16%; excellent weather resistance; good coloring; flame-resistance in accordance with UL standard 94 Vl and 94 V-2, and is a self-extinguishing resin.
Polycarbonate – Applications
In the electrical and electronic industry, it can be used as insulating connectors, coil frames, terminals, gaskets, etc. for electronic computers, televisions, radios, speaker equipment and household appliances. It can also be used as the shell of electrical tools, such as the shell of electric drill, telecommunications equipment cover, etc.

In the mechanical industry, suitable for small and medium load transmission parts such as gears, racks, cams, worm gears, etc.. Used as a small force fasteners such as screws, nuts, etc. to replace metal parts.

In the safety and medical aspects, it can be used as safety cap, astronaut cap, explosion-proof glass, protective glasses, and medical surgical vessels that can be sterilized at high temperature.

In aviation, transportation and optical machinery, it can be used as windshield glass, seat window cover, lampshade, sunglass glass, optical machinery parts of CD, camera, etc. in airplane, train, car and boat.

1.In construction and agriculture, it is used in large quantities as high-impact window glass and glass heater, with high safety and decorative properties. For example, the makrolon germany polycarbonate solid sheet.

In the textile industry, it can be made into various weft tubes, yarn tubes, woolen tubes, hemp spinning tubes, etc. In addition, polycarbonate can also be used as a foam structural material.

We have many polycarbonate products. For example, roofing polycarbonate sheet, embossed and corrugated polycarbonate sheet, makrolon germany polycarbonate solid sheet, virgin lexan greenhouse polycarbonate hollow sheet, diamond embossed polycarbonate sheet,anti-static polycarbonate corrugated sheet, greenhouse uv corrugated polycarbonate sheet, etc. Please contact the polycarbonate manufacturer if you require.
